Therapeutic Indications

Cefazolin is indicated for:

Skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections (sensitive micro-organisms)

Irrespective of gender only Children (1 year - 12 years old)

Cefazolin is indicated for the treatment of the following infections caused by cefazolin-susceptible micro-organisms:

Perioperative prophylaxis in colorectal surgery

Perioperative prophylaxis. For surgical operations with increased risk of infections with anaerobic pathogens, e.g. colorectal surgery, a combination with an appropriate drug with activity against anaerobes is recommended.

Contraindications

Active ingredient Cefazolin is contraindicated in the following cases:

Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins

No gender/age discrimination

Patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics.
