Chronic stable angina pectoris

Irrespective of gender only Elderly (65 years old or older)

Contraindications

Active ingredient Carvedilol is contraindicated in the following cases:

Clinically significant hepatic dysfunction

No gender/age discrimination

Heart failure NYHA Class IV

No gender/age discrimination

Heart failure belonging to NYHA Class IV of the heart failure classification with marked fluid retention or overload requiring intravenous inotropic treatment.

Verapamil, diltiazem

Concomitant intravenous treatment of carvedilol with verapamil or diltiazem is contraindicated.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with bronchial obstruction.

Second degree atrioventricular block

AV block, degree II (unless a permanent pacemaker is in place).

Bronchial asthma

Untreated phaeochromocytoma

Sick sinus syndrome
